I love working with stone. I love the tactile experience of creating forms, the gentle force required to tease out textures and surfaces, and the sensory feedback that different material provides. I am perpetually intrigued and captivated by the dialogue between the gestures and rhythms in my mind, the physical limitations of my tools, and the idiosyncrasies of the stone. I carve outdoors in the rain and shine of Oregon’s south Willamette Valley whenever I can.
